Missouri Slope Areawide (MSA) United Way celebrated its 2021 Campaign during the nonprofit’s sold-out Annual Luncheon & Meeting on Thursday, March 31st. The Ramkota ballroom was packed to celebrate the work of United Way, who recognized their donors, volunteers, and revealed the 2020 and 2021 Campaign totals.
The Bismarck, Mandan, and surrounding communities helped MSA United Way raise a record-breaking $3,041,851.72 in 2020 and $3,104,440.05 in 2021.
“Our community is full of generous individuals who understand that they are part of the solution when they join with MSA United Way,” said Executive Director, Jena Gullo. “This is a community that steps up to take care of each other and I’m proud to be a part of it.”
The event celebrated the accomplishments of nonprofit partners, volunteers, and donors. This past year, 44,156 books were mailed to preschoolers in our area and 2,637,820 meals were provided. Over 35,000 nights of shelter were provided through United Way’s emergency homeless shelter and United Way partner agencies, keeping men, women, and children warm and safe.
MSA United Way also presented awards to the top 20 business contributors and many companies and organizations who supported United Way in 2020 in extraordinary ways were also recognized.
The money raised by MSA United Way and the community will support United Way’s programs and partner agencies throughout the community. These agencies have successful programs that meet our community’s largest needs, while focusing on getting to the root problem, instead of only treating the symptom.
