Women United Leader, Teresa Chrest of Bartlett & West, volunteered to organize our Parents United this past year. We brought in monthly trainers from NDSU Service Extension, Bismarck-Burleigh Public Health, and Kirkwood Bank & Trust to offer nutrition, cooking, exercise, and financial literacy classes to parents of Jeannette Myhre students. We also offered childcare to allow parents time to learn and socialize with other parents. Developing a strong support network is equally as important as learning new skills. Parents received fun prizes such as Crockpots, Christmas trees, and gift cards for gas and groceries.
