We always say “every dollar counts.” Well here’s proof that every penny counts.
From Sept. 22 through Oct. 3, students from 19 schools helped raise $15,083.80! Local students brought in their spare change and raised vital funds for United Way’s Dolly Parton Imagination Library. Thanks to the generosity of these students, 603 children will receive one free book in the mail each month for an entire year!
At the Elementary level, Sunrise Elementary won “Most Amount Raised” with $1,365.23 and Highland Acres won “Most Raised Per Student” with $2.94 per student. The students at those schools are now proudly displaying their traveling plaque and all received United Way pencils for their participation. Mrs. Myerchin’s class at Horizon Middle School ($122) and Mr. Leingang’s class at Bismarck High School ($176.94) raised the highest amount for their respective divisions and were both awarded free day passes to the YMCA.
