Our team at United Way has been helping deliver meals over the lunch hour for the past few weeks. Seeing the home-delivered meal program at Mandan Golden Age Services in action has been great. And brushing shoulders with all the volunteers, may just be the best part.
So, when we stumbled on some #StarionKindnessCash last night, we couldn’t think of a better recipient than Al.
Al is a 17-year veteran volunteer with Mandan Golden Age Services. Five days a week, he loads his car with hot meals and sets out delivering meals to homebound seniors. Twenty-five dollars will help keep his car gassed up so he can keep up the good work.
In 2013, with the support of volunteers like Al, United Way partners provided 97,591 meals to seniors, allowing them to stay healthy and independent.
