Bismarck, ND – MSA United Way is recruiting over 900 volunteers for the 25th annual Day of Caring, to be held Wednesday, August 14th, 2024.
Day of Caring is the largest volunteer event in Bismarck-Mandan, connecting the skills and resources of community-minded individuals, businesses, and organizations to local nonprofits, schools, and parks. This year, volunteers will spend the day completing more than 50 projects throughout the Bismarck-Mandan community.
The community is invited to our Kick-Off Event at the Missouri Valley Family YMCA in the Johnson gym at 8:00 am on August 14th, 2024. There will be breakfast, T-shirts, and a short presentation by Ann & Dave Reich, Co-Chairs of the very first Day of Caring in 2000, United Way Board Chair, Bryan Klipfel, and United Way Executive Director, Jena Gullo.
The Day of Caring is a family-friendly opportunity where volunteers will be doing yard work and painting at local nonprofits, cleaning and organizing, preparing boxes of food for those in need, and much more. There is something for everyone!
Many generous businesses lend their employees for the day, supply project materials, provide lunch, and help cover expenses through sponsorships. In 2023, over 800 community volunteers stepped up, investing 3,308 combined hours at 52 different project sites. As a result, one hundred thousand dollars in savings were reinvested into life-changing community programs and organizations.
